Epstein Prescriptive claim

A prescriptive claim should be objective on whichever issue is being discussed and the standards on the claim should be clear from the communicating parties. Vaguely supporting opinions or ideas on a prescriptive claim often turn it into a subjective claim. This can lead to illogical arguments from the one debating the issue because they are set on an opinionated belief on the issue without a clear set of standards on the issue’s definition. It also makes it harder for a mutual agreement on the issue at hand from the debating parties. An example of this is my friend’s illogical prejudice and racist beliefs against certain ethnic group. He refuses to deal or have any association with them. His remark is they are stingy and stinky. Anytime he is around them he would have a painful face on him like he is suffocating from some foul smell coming from them. I agree with my friend that some do have some weird smell aloof them but not everyone smell like that so I told my friend what I thought, but he wouldn’t want to hear it and decided to altogether stay away from the ethnic group as much as possible.
