Organization System

In chapter 4 of “The Essential Guide to Group Communication,” the authors go into details about communicating in organizations and what they encompass. What I learned from the chapter is that an organization can have its own organizational culture depending on the values and cultures diversity of the employees in the company. But no matter what organizational culture the organization chose, it would still be affected by outside forces such as political change, economic deviation, and other organizations that affiliate with it. The authors describe the organization as an individual entity where the organization’s uniqueness is from the characteristics that made it unique. Just like a person, “openness and adaptability” are important to an organization because the organization need to be open to ideas and be able to make changes to further improve its organization structure so that its survival is based on its ability to stay ahead of its competition. If the organization is unwilling to ideas can’t adapt to changes, its organization wouldn’t be able to stay strong and would eventually collapse.
